Mah Nesa Shahsavari Pour was a legendary artisan from Sirjan, Iran, whose life was dedicated to preserving the art of Shiriki-Pich Kilim weaving. With over 90 years of expertise in handmade crafts, she was renowned for her mastery in kilim weaving, jajim weaving, pateh embroidery, and needlework.
Recognized as the “Mother of Iranian Handicrafts” by the World Crafts Council (WCC), Mah-Nesa played a vital role in the global recognition of Shiriki-Pich Kilim as a cultural heritage. Despite her advanced age, she continued to weave intricate designs, passing down her skills and knowledge to the next generation of artisans.
